Whether you are an expert or a first timer, local or visitor, we think you find Bayou St. John to be a perfect place to Stand Up Paddleboard (S.U.P.)! The historic, meandering bayou is almost always smooth providing a relaxing paddle experience and it’s just minutes from the French Quarter. Depending on your route, you should see the oldest house in New Orleans (1784), plentiful wildlife (mostly birds and turtles), and you may even be able to circumnavigate an island! Unguided rentals and/or downwinders (one way paddles) are available for experienced paddlers.

(Option 2) Lake Pontchartrain Location

Lake Pontchartrain provides prime paddling conditions in the summer months. Paddling along the open water toward the vacant horizon makes for a great escape from city life. This paddle location also gives you the option to explore the harbor where the New Canal Lighthouse and the second oldest yacht club in the country are located. Then you can just roam around the different channels checking out the fun names and locations of visiting and local sailing vessels. Once done with paddling, some great local seafood restaurants are just walking distance away!

We provide: 75 minutes of paddle time (often flexible), instruction for those in need, bayou/area knowledge, quality S.U.P. boards, Werner paddles, leashes, lifejackets, and photos upon request (cannot be guaranteed). Please let us know if you would like on-the-water support when requesting your reservation. This is available at no extra cost.

*Please bring flip flops or some type of shoe for shell walkway, clothes you don’t mind getting wet, hydration, and sun protection. 9 group max. Jackson Riviera kayaks available by special request. Min. age is 9.

Pricing (Cost is based on # signing up):

(1) Paddler: $70.00 (includes tax)

(2 - 4) Paddlers: $45.00 per paddler (includes tax)

(5 - 9) Paddlers: $40.00 per paddler (includes tax)

*Private, solo sessions/lessons are available for $85.00

Payment Options and cancellation policy:

Deposit for at least 1 paddler required through Venmo (@NOLApaddleboards). Venmo or cash payment for remaining amount due on day of paddle. No re-scheduling or cancellations (with refund) allowed within 24 hours of scheduled paddle unless management cancels due to weather. Re-scheduling is allowed if at least 24 hour notice from scheduled start time.

HOW TO SCHEDULE :

Please use our ‘Contact’ page on the menu bar to request your paddle outing. Sessions begin at 10:00am, but can be slightly altered. If you are trying to schedule something same-day, please message us; but we normally need at least a few days notice.
